Being one of the first major cities to ring in the New Year around the world, Sydney also has one of the world’s largest firework display. The $5 million extravaganza showcases the harbor bridge and the Sydney Opera House drawing in a crowd of almost 1.5 million people.
We had hoped that leaving at 1pm would have been early enough to get a good seat at Mrs. Macquaries Point but there was not a spot of grass among the crowd of 20,000 people and we decided on Ruschutter’s Bay, a little less claustrophobic location. Glittery party hats on and a bottle of wine in hand, we were ready to celebrate!
